Marvel Rivals Shader Compilation Optimized for Rapid Loading

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to expedite this process.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game launches, especially online titles, often involve a period of loading. However, Marvel Rivals PC players report significant delays (several minutes) due to shader compilation. Shaders are crucial programs managing visual aspects like lighting and color in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various issues.

A community-discovered workaround effectively addresses this problem:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
  3. Set a Lower Value: Select a value less than or equal to your VRAM. The available options are limited (5GB, 10GB, 100GB); choose the most appropriate one for your system.

This method significantly reduces shader compilation time, often to just a few seconds, and also resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.

While a permanent fix from NetEase is pending, this solution provides an immediate workaround to avoid lengthy loading screens.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
