Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, extra passive skill points, and weapon set skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff. However, its location makes it easily missed. This guide explains how to locate and activate this beneficial encounter.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan are found twice: once in Act 2 and again in Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its inconspicuous icon on the world map often leads to players overlooking it.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the Sisters' precise location within the Spires of Deshar is unpredictable. However, diligent exploration will reveal a shrine resembling the image above. Activating the shrine triggers a combat encounter with metallic automatons. Note that activating the shrine brings all automatons in the area to life.

A convenient strategy involves using the checkpoint near the shrine to avoid traversing the entire map if you reach the exit checkpoint first.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance buff is granted instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's automatically applied upon activation.

Remember, the Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine in both acts yields a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Lightning Resistance Increasing?

Many players find it confusing that their resistance values remain negative even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act completion (Chaos Resistance is unaffected).

Therefore, activating the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 neutralizes the -10% debuff from Act 1. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff partially offsets the cumulative -40% debuff, leaving you with -30%.

To verify the buffs are active, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance indicates you haven't missed any encounters.
