However, developer James Vaughn admits to some apprehension regarding this pricing strategy in a recent interview with Game File. The game, a sequel to the popular Plague Inc., presents a brighter outlook than its predecessors, focusing on rebuilding human civilization after the Necroa Virus pandemic.

Despite the more optimistic premise, Vaughn voiced concerns about the mobile market's saturation with free-to-play (F2P) games laden with microtransactions. The decision to proceed with a premium price point, he explains, rests on the success of Plague Inc. and Rebel Inc., which have established a player base and demonstrated a continued demand for high-quality strategy games on mobile. He acknowledges that without the established success of their prior titles, launching After Inc. as a premium game would be significantly more challenging.

Ndemic Creations guarantees that all purchased content will remain accessible without additional costs. The App Store listing explicitly states the absence of consumable microtransactions and assures players that expansion packs are "buy once, play forever."

Initial reception has been positive. After Inc. currently holds a strong position in the App Store's Top Paid Games category, and boasts a 4.77-star rating on Google Play. A Steam early access version, titled After Inc. Revival, is also planned for release in 2025.

After Inc. is a 4X grand strategy simulation game where players rebuild human society in a post-apocalyptic UK. The looming threat of zombies adds another layer of challenge, requiring players to manage resource gathering and expansion while defending against these undead hordes. Vaughn assures players that these challenges are surmountable, with a touch of humor: "Nothing that can’t be solved with some nails stuck in a cricket bat!"
