"Classic DOOM and DOOM 2 Updated"

As fans eagerly await the release of DOOM: The Dark Ages, some are revisiting the classic DOOM and DOOM 2 games. The developers have not only resumed their work but have also rolled out an exciting update for the compilation of DOOM + DOOM 2, enhancing the technical quality and introducing new features.

The update brings significant improvements, including enhanced support for multiplayer modifications. Mods created with Vanilla DOOM, DeHackEd, MBF21, or BOOM are now compatible, ensuring a broader range of customization for players. In cooperative play, all participants can now pick up items, and a new observer mode allows players to watch the action while waiting to be revived. The multiplayer network code has been optimized for smoother gameplay, and the mod loader has been upgraded to handle more than the first 100+ mods a player subscribes to.

Looking ahead to DOOM: The Dark Ages, id Software is focusing on making the game as accessible as possible. Players will have the ability to adjust the aggression of demons in the settings, tailoring their experience to their preference. Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized the team's goal to enhance accessibility, offering a wide range of customization options not seen in previous id Software projects.

In DOOM: The Dark Ages, players can modify various aspects of the game, including enemies' damage and difficulty, projectile speed, the amount of damage taken, game tempo, aggression level, and parry timing. Stratton also confirmed that prior knowledge of DOOM: The Dark Ages is not necessary to understand its story or that of DOOM: Eternal, ensuring that new players can jump right in without feeling lost.
