Damasi Rules
The game is played on an 8×8 board, with each player starting with 16 men arranged in two rows, leaving the back row empty. Men can move forward or sideways one square and capture by jumping over an opponent's piece, but they cannot move backwards. When a man reaches the back row, it is promoted to a king, which can move any number of squares forwards, backwards, or sideways, capturing by jumping over any piece and landing on any square beyond the captured piece.
Pieces are removed immediately after being jumped. If a jump is possible, it must be taken. When multiple jumps are available, the player must choose the sequence that captures the most pieces. There is no distinction between kings and men during capture; each counts as one piece. If multiple sequences capture the same number of pieces, the player can choose which to execute.
The game ends when a player has no legal moves left, either because all their pieces are captured or they are completely blocked, resulting in a win for the opponent. Unlike other draughts variants, since pieces are removed immediately after being jumped, it's possible to cross the same square more than once in a capturing sequence. However, within a multi-capture, turning 180 degrees between two captures is not allowed.
Thank you for choosing to play Damasi! Enjoy the strategic depth and fun of this classic game.
