Atlus producer Kazushi Wada reiterates the unlikelihood of the popular female protagonist (FeMC) from Persona 3 Portable appearing in Persona 3 Reload. This decision, explained in a recent PC Gamer interview, stems from significant development challenges and budgetary constraints.

High Costs and Development Time Rule Out FeMC

Initially, including Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato (the FeMC) was considered, even during the planning stages of the Persona 3 Reload post-launch DLC, Episode Aigis - The Answer. However, Wada clarifies that the resources required to integrate the FeMC proved insurmountable.

The Persona 3 Reload remake, released this past February, faithfully recreates the 2006 classic. Despite fan disappointment over the FeMC's absence, Wada emphasizes the infeasibility of adding her, stating that the development time and cost would be unmanageable, even as DLC. He expresses regret, acknowledging the considerable fan anticipation, but firmly states the inclusion of the FeMC is highly improbable.

The considerable popularity of the FeMC in Persona 3 Portable fueled expectations for her inclusion in Persona 3 Reload, either at launch or as post-release content. However, Wada's comments definitively suggest this is exceptionally unlikely. He previously highlighted to Famitsu the significant increase in development time and cost compared to the Episode Aigis DLC, making the FeMC's addition an insurmountable hurdle.

Wada's repeated statements leave little room for hope regarding the FeMC's future inclusion in Persona 3 Reload.
