Rumor: Zenless Zone Zero Leak Reveals Duration of Future Patch Cycles

Zenless Zone Zero: Upcoming Updates and Extended Patch Cycle?

Recent leaks suggest Zenless Zone Zero's current patch cycle will extend beyond initial expectations, concluding with Version 1.7 before transitioning to Version 2.0. This revelation comes less than a year after the game's successful launch, a period marked by consistent content additions and growing popularity.

The game's 2024 debut was a triumph, earning a Best Mobile Game nomination at The Game Awards and steadily gaining traction with each update. A collaboration with McDonald's further solidified its presence. While players currently enjoy the 1.4 update, anticipation for 1.5 is high, promising two new playable characters (Astra Yao and Evelyn), a fresh area, and a potential Nicole Demara skin.

Reliable leaker, Flying Flame, reports that Version 1.7 will mark the end of the current cycle, followed by Version 2.0, then Version 2.8, and finally Version 3.0. This contrasts with other HoYoverse titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which concluded their first cycles at Version 1.6. If accurate, this extended cycle signifies a significant content commitment for Zenless Zone Zero. Further fueling this expectation, another leak from the same source indicates 31 new characters are planned, a substantial addition to the current roster of 26.

Projected Patch Cycle:

  • Version 1.7, followed by Version 2.0
  • Version 2.8, followed by Version 3.0

While Version 1.7 remains months away, the imminent Version 1.5 update offers much to look forward to: a new story chapter, area, events, and the highly anticipated S-Rank units, Astra Yao (rumored to be a strong support) and Evelyn. Players are advised to begin farming Astra Yao's materials in preparation.

Version 1.4, featuring the powerful Hoshimi Miyabi, concluded with some minor controversy regarding alleged censorship. However, HoYoverse swiftly addressed the issue and compensated players.
