Rebel Wolves Aim for The Witcher 3 Quality in The Blood of Dawnwalker
Former developers from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 at Rebel Wolves have introduced their latest project, *The Blood of Dawnwalker*. Although not aiming for the full scope of a AAA title, the team's ambitions remain sky-high. Rebel Wolves' founder, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, shared insights into their vision:
"We want AAA quality, like The Witcher 3—that's our heritage. But as a small studio on our first project, we're creating something more compact yet just as polished."
The game is designed to offer a complete experience within 30-40 hours, a stark contrast to the marathon length of The Witcher 3:
"Comparing anything to The Witcher 3, which was meant to last 100+ hours but often exceeded 200-300 hours, is crazy. But is size what makes a game AAA? Call of Duty is AAA without a massive campaign. So, does scale really matter?"
Tomaszkiewicz also challenged the industry's fixation on labels like "AAA" and "AAAA," suggesting they hold little value. *The Blood of Dawnwalker* is an action RPG that follows a half-vampire protagonist with a tight deadline of 30 days and nights to rescue his loved ones. Despite the time limit, the game promises a seamless experience. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, it will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, though a release date has yet to be announced.
