Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved
Insomniac Games almost made Resistance 4, but it never happened. In a recent interview following his retirement announcement after 30 years at the studio, Insomniac founder Ted Price revealed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed. While the concept was strong, timing and market factors ultimately prevented its production.
Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, citing its unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera alien antagonists.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. It depicts an alternate 1951 where the UK faces an alien invasion. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the highly successful Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank games.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his long tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's recent release was Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (now available on PC), with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
