Warner Bros. Discovery's CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels, revealed the sequel plans at Bank of America's 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, as reported by Variety. He highlighted the sequel's importance, stating it's "one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road," and will significantly contribute to the company's games division growth.

Earlier this year, David Haddad of Warner Bros. Games told Variety that the game's high replayability was a key factor in its success. He emphasized that the game's appeal went beyond sales figures, stating it offered a unique and immersive Harry Potter experience allowing players to truly inhabit the world and story. This resonated strongly with fans, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the best-selling games list for the year, a position typically held by established franchises' sequels.
