Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9

Nintendo has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, with preorders kicking off on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. Mark your calendars for June 5, 2025, when the Nintendo Switch 2 will hit the shelves at a price of $449.99. In addition to the standard model, a special Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will be available for $499.99, including the console and a download code for the game, both launching on June 5. For those looking to purchase Mario Kart World separately, be prepared for a steep price tag of $79.99.

You can also register your interest with Nintendo at the My Nintendo Store to receive notifications about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories. Invitations to purchase will be distributed via email on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 hours of gameplay logged by April 2, 2025. After priority users, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Each invitation is non-transferable and valid for 72 hours, allowing for the purchase of one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers are also set to open preorders on April 9, 2025.
