Genshin Impact Version 5.0: New Character Leaks Reveal Weapon Types and Rarities

Version 5.0 of Genshin Impact is set to introduce two new characters, and a recent leak has unveiled their weapon types, rarities, and elements. While leaks regarding the upcoming Natlan region have been scarce, reliable leaker FouL has provided significant insight.

FouL's leak suggests Version 5.0 will debut three new characters: a 5-star male Dendro Claymore user, a 5-star female Hydro Catalyst user, and a 4-star female Geo Polearm user. This corroborates earlier leaks predicting Natlan's initial patches would feature two 5-star Catalyst users and one 5-star Claymore user.

The addition of a 5-star Dendro Claymore user is a welcome change, given Kaveh is currently the only character with that weapon and element type. However, the introduction of another Hydro Catalyst user might be less surprising, considering existing characters like Kokomi, Mona, Barbara, and Neuvillette.

The 4-star Geo Polearm character could potentially be Iansan, teased in the Travail preview. However, many players believe Iansan will be one of the anticipated 5-star Catalyst users, possibly debuting in Version 5.1.

Additional leaks suggest Version 5.1 and 5.2 will each feature only one 5-star character, though details remain undisclosed. Natlan is anticipated to enhance certain Cryo and Hydro characters, such as Shenhe, Ayato, and potentially Emilie from Version 4.8.

Version 5.0 is expected to launch in late August 2024. Official previews of Natlan and its characters are anticipated soon.
