Mariah Carey has thawed out, launching Fortnite's Winterfest event for the 2024 holiday season! But completing the event's quests requires a visit to SGT. Winter for a chat about his "Wintervestigation." Here's how to find him.

Finding SGT. Winter in Fortnite Chapter 6

The initial Wintervestigation quest sends players to SGT. Winter. These quests appear to involve teaming up with Noir to uncover clues and locate new NPCs across the Chapter 6 map.

The quest marker will pinpoint SGT. Winter's location on your map, even before the match starts. He's near a plane crash at the summit of a snowy mountain, east of Warrior's Watch and south of Foxy Floodgate. It's close to Mariah Carey's in-game concert location.

SGT. Winter is a roaming NPC near the plane wreckage. He's marked with a speech bubble icon. Interact with him to access a menu offering a Holo Twister Assault Rifle, Blizzard Grenade, or conversation options.

To initiate the Wintervestigation dialogue, select the magnifying glass icon. This will trigger a text-based conversation, leading to a new mission directing you to Noir in Seaport City. Completing the dialogue rewards 25,000 XP.

Surviving and Looting at SGT. Winter's Location

Reaching SGT. Winter is challenging, as the area is a popular drop zone, especially early in the quest chain. Consider waiting a few days for the crowds to thin. However, if you're ready to tackle it head-on:

Purchase items from SGT. Winter. If you have gold bars, the Epic Holo Twister Rifle is a strong early-game weapon.

Use the plane wreckage for cover. Land quickly, grab a chest, and use the environment to your advantage. Many players might only have pickaxes, making early elimination possible with a good team and some luck with loot chest spawns.
