All Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Settings
The game features four difficulty levels: Historian (easy), Wayfarer (normal), Hero (hard), and Ultimate Warrior (very hard). Initially, only Historian, Wayfarer, and Hero are accessible. Ultimate Warrior unlocks after completing a main scenario for any of the three factions. Note that while a trophy/achievement exists for completing a battle on Ultimate Warrior, campaign completion doesn't have difficulty-specific trophies/achievements.
Which Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Setting is Best?
Historian, the easiest setting, is ideal for newcomers to the genre or players prioritizing story progression. Wayfarer provides a balanced challenge suitable for most players, even those with limited Musou/Warriors experience. Series veterans might start with Hero, while experienced Musou players should consider Ultimate Warrior after unlocking it for a heightened challenge.
Difficulty can be adjusted between battles via the config menu without impacting the storyline.
Difficulty Mode Differences in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Historian simplifies gameplay by making all enemy attacks easily blockable, enhancing staggering, bravery gain, and Musou Gauge filling. Conversely, Hero increases enemy strength and aggression, reduces parry/evade windows, and removes Meat Bun drops. Bravery depletes on blocking, battlefield influence is reduced, and Skill Points/gold rewards are slightly lowered. Ultimate Warrior intensifies Hero's challenges with even tighter timing windows and significantly reduced rewards.
