Application Description
A Mathematical Puzzle Challenge: The Towers of Hanoi
The Towers of Hanoi, also known as the Tower of Brahma or Lucas' Tower, is a classic mathematical puzzle. It features three rods and a set of disks of varying sizes, stacked from largest to smallest on one rod, forming a conical shape.
The goal is to move all disks from the starting rod to the target rod using the fewest possible moves, adhering to these rules:
- Only one disk can be moved at a time.
- Only the topmost disk can be moved.
- A larger disk cannot be placed on top of a smaller disk.
The game progresses through levels, each adding a new disk to the initial stack. Level completion triggers an end-level screen displaying:
- Level number
- Completion time
- Time record achievement (if applicable)
- A three-star ranking based on minimal moves, error-free play, and time record.
Victory requires completing all seven levels. A final results screen summarizes performance across all levels, including times, records, move counts (correct and incorrect), star ratings, and achievement progress. Six achievements are available:
- First Three Stars: Achieving a three-star rating for the first time.
- Three Impeccable Levels: Consecutive three-star ratings on three levels.
- Four Consecutive Time Records: Achieving time records on four consecutive levels.
- Unstoppable!: Achieving time records on five levels.
- Game Completed: Completing all seven levels.
- Best Game Time: Completing the game with the fastest overall time.
Enjoy this engaging mathematical challenge!
