Spencer's commitment to the Switch 2 comes from his belief in Nintendo's continued success with their hybrid consoles. He shared that he has been in communication with Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, congratulating him on the new console and appreciating its larger screen. "Nintendo, their innovation, and what they mean in this industry… I just always applaud the moves that they make," Spencer remarked. He also mentioned a flash video from Nintendo and his anticipation for more details, expressing his eagerness to support Nintendo with Xbox games.

Although specific games were not named in the interview, Microsoft has a pre-existing 10-year agreement with Nintendo, announced on February 25, 2023. This agreement ensures that "Call of Duty will be available to Nintendo players on the same day as Xbox, with full feature and content parity," according to Microsoft president Brad Smith.

Currently, Xbox is expanding its reach by bringing titles like Grounded and Pentiment to rival platforms such as the Switch and PlayStation. With the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2, more Xbox games are likely to be ported to Nintendo's new hybrid console.

Xbox's approach is to make its games more accessible to a broader audience while continuing to develop new consoles and handheld devices.
