Stellar Mercenaries has just launched its much-anticipated Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content and introducing players to a thrilling new battleground. If you're new to the game, Stellar Mercenaries is an engaging vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you tackle procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.

What's New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?

The Jupiter Expansion transforms the planet and its moons into dynamic battlegrounds. Jupiter itself is fraught with storms, while its moons offer distinct challenges: Ganymede is a barren wasteland, Io is covered in volcanic debris, and Europa presents a frozen, treacherous terrain. This expansion also introduces two new factions: the militaristic Jovian Empire, aiming to dominate the region, and the chaotic Pirate Council, an alliance of outlaws.

Players can dive into 50 new missions, ranging from hyperspace hunting to piracy, escort, and train defense missions. The expansion also brings six new ships to the fleet: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Additionally, arm yourself with new weapons such as the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.

The update enhances gameplay with Tier 4 shields and armor, and introduces new hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have also been upgraded, with new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk making their debut.

To complement the new gameplay elements, the Jupiter Expansion adds 14 new music tracks and introduces a side missions system, enriching the Stellar Mercenaries experience.
