Sonic Rumble Pre-Registrations Reach 900k, Release Date Revealed

Sonic Rumble introduces a thrilling multiplayer experience, allowing up to 32 players to compete across various levels and gameplay modes. Sega describes the game as, "Players control a character from the Sonic series as they navigate a toy world crafted by the nefarious Dr. Eggman, tackling challenging obstacle courses and perilous arenas!"

As a free-to-play title, concerns about pay-to-win mechanics have surfaced. However, Sonic Rumble Director Makoto Tase addressed these concerns during the Tokyo Game Show 2024 in an interview with Automaton. He stated, "We’re aiming for a casual system where players can quickly purchase what they want for a small, fixed price, rather than a gacha system with random item drops."

Sonic Rumble Reaches Over 900k Pre-Registrations

Shortly after announcing the release date, Sega revealed that Sonic Rumble has surpassed 900,000 pre-registrations. This milestone, along with others, unlocks various in-game rewards to give players a head start.

The final pre-registration milestone has yet to be reached or disclosed, but fans speculate it could be around 1 million, a common target for similar campaigns. With several weeks remaining until the launch, there's still time to hit this target.
