"PlayStation Plus Adds Five Free Days for Subscribers"
Sony recently shed light on the cause of the PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted services for nearly a full day over the weekend. In a social media update, the company attributed the issue to an "operational problem" but refrained from providing more detailed insights or outlining measures to prevent future occurrences.
To make amends, Sony announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers would receive an additional five days of subscription time, which will be automatically credited to their accounts.
During the outage, a significant number of players faced challenges, with over a third unable to log in, and many others reporting server crashes that hampered their gaming experience.
The necessity of a PSN account for playing even single-player games on PC has been a point of contention among gamers, and this recent outage has only amplified those concerns.
This incident is not the first of its kind; in April 2011, a major data breach resulted in over 20 days of connectivity issues. While the current situation is less severe, PS5 users are expressing dissatisfaction with Sony's limited communication on the matter.
