It's not until Chapter 3 that the game prompts you to make a crucial decision. By the end of this chapter, you must select one of the three factions to join. By this point, you should have a good understanding of each faction, but if you're still undecided, the game provides additional battles to help you make an informed choice.

To progress, you'll need to complete specific missions for each faction. To ally with Sun Jian, you must complete three battles; Liu Bei requires two, and Cao Cao only one.
