Choosing Your Faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide
In the realm of *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, your journey through ancient China involves hacking and slashing your way alongside various warlords. However, a pivotal moment arrives when you must choose which faction to pledge your allegiance to. Here's a detailed guide on selecting factions in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Factions Explained
*Dynasty Warriors: Origins* unfolds across several chapters, but during the first two, your character, the Wanderer, remains unaffiliated. You'll navigate between the factions of Sun Jian, Cao Cao, and Liu Bei, participating in battles and significant events like the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Hulao Gate.
It's not until Chapter 3 that the game prompts you to make a crucial decision. By the end of this chapter, you must select one of the three factions to join. By this point, you should have a good understanding of each faction, but if you're still undecided, the game provides additional battles to help you make an informed choice.
To progress, you'll need to complete specific missions for each faction. To ally with Sun Jian, you must complete three battles; Liu Bei requires two, and Cao Cao only one. Once you've met these requirements, a new mission will unlock, forcing you to choose a side. For instance, if you complete Cao Cao's mission first, you'll be able to ally with him in the subsequent battle, while the option to choose Liu Bei might be unavailable if you haven't completed his missions. However, you can always go back and complete the missions for all factions before making your final choice.
Once you commit to a faction, the other factions become inaccessible for the remainder of the game. This means no more sidequests from their officers and no further bond increases with them. Choosing a faction can impact the difficulty of your journey, as seen when I sided with Liu Bei, whose faction initially offers fewer opportunities for skill point gains due to limited commanding officers.
Each route also features unique missions, so if you're eager to experience all that *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* has to offer, consider saving your game before making your faction choice. This way, you can reload and explore different alliances.
And that's how you elect a faction in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*. The game is now available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
