Nintendo Today App: A New Hub for Fans' News and Content
Nintendo Today is an exciting new app from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news directly to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. Announced by video game legend Shigeru Miyamoto during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, this app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering a range of benefits for avid Nintendo enthusiasts.
This comprehensive hub for all things Nintendo functions as both a daily calendar and a news feed, ensuring players receive the latest updates as they happen. Miyamoto highlighted that following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the Nintendo Today app to stay updated, with new content rolling out on a daily basis.
Unlike traditional Nintendo Directs, Nintendo Today offers a more direct line of communication, encouraging fans to stay engaged with news even when there are no major announcements. As the days progress, beloved characters from Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and more will greet users, enhancing the daily experience. The app's feed will not only feature news but also Nintendo-themed content, such as the Pikmin 4 comic "Too Stuck to Pluck" and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.
While Nintendo Today may not be the groundbreaking reveal of a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that many fans anticipated, it serves as an additional channel for fans to connect with Nintendo.
