Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Officially Confirmed

Author : Olivia Update : Apr 13,2025

As anticipated, the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially announced during Sony's State of Play 2025 event, accompanied by an exciting new trailer. The game is set to launch on August 28, 2025, a date that was leaked last week through the PlayStation Store, along with the trailer that was also confirmed during the broadcast.

Adding to the excitement, an Ape Escape collaboration was teased, hinting at potential crossovers in the game. A message reading "And More" suggests that fans can look forward to additional collaborations. This initial tease seems to nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3, which included a memorable monkey minigame where Snake would use stun grenades and his 'Monkey Shaker' gun to neutralize the animals.

While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater introduces a new first-person perspective, it remains a faithful recreation of the original game. As IGN noted in our preview, "Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been. It's an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault."
