Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, and you're faced with a pivotal decision: become a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the latter means breaking all the links of your chain, transforming you into a Hollow. Even if you do nothing, your chain will naturally break every two minutes, leading to your inevitable transformation into a Hollow.
Warning: Before embarking on your Hollow journey, be aware that playing as a Hollow can feel more repetitive than playing as a Shinigami. While Hollows boast a cooler aesthetic, advancing through their ranks requires extensive grinding and repetitive combat. To reach the pinnacle as a Vasto Lorde or Espada, brace yourself for a time-consuming endeavor.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your next goal is to evolve into a Gillian. This involves grinding by defeating other Hollows and consuming their remains. At level 15, you'll evolve into a Gillian, but you can access the Hueco Mundo dimension at level 10 via a Garganta gateway, making it easier to find and consume Hollows.
As a Hollow, you'll face attacks from both Shinigami and other Hollows, a unique challenge not encountered by Soul Reapers (Shinigami). For a different perspective, check out our full Shinigami progression guide.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your task is to continue eliminating Hollows and interact with the Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Accumulate enough Progression Points, and you'll be transported to your inner world, where defeating five tough Hollows three times will evolve you into an Adjucha.
The Hollows in your inner world are much more challenging than regular ones, but you can retry this task as many times as needed.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
As an Adjucha, you're at a crossroads: choose to evolve into a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar. Let's explore the Arrancar path first.
Arrancar Progression
To become an Arrancar, locate and interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which appears every 30 to 60 minutes. Upon contact, you'll transform into an Arrancar and gain access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. Here's a list of all Arrancar Ressurections in Hollow Era.
At level 50, you can pursue your Resurrección, but more on that later. Currently, Arrancars can only utilize Kendo skills, with hopes for more skills to be added soon.
Vasto Lorde Progression
To evolve into a Vasto Lorde, continue eliminating and devouring Hollows to earn Progression Points. However, be cautious; dying during this process results in a 1% loss of Progression Points.
Many Hollow Era players remain stuck as Adjucha due to the grind. To become a Vasto Lorde, you need 800 Progression Points, earned as follows:
Hollow: 1 Point Gillian: 6 Points Adjucha: 4 Points Vasto Lorde: 8 Points Arrancar: 8 Points Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde form in the Hollow Era
Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You need to collect 800 race Progression Points and gather all Hollow Items, which have a random drop chance. Here's a list of all Hollow Items by the creatures that drop them:
Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed) Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu) Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength) Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
If you choose the Vasto Lorde path, your next step is to evolve into an Espada. The process mirrors becoming an Arrancar: locate a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo and interact with it to transform.
To find a Crystal Bush easily, head to Hueco Mundo, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your settings to improve visibility, and scan the area from a high vantage point.
How to Get Your Resurrección
As an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then visit Hueco Mundo and speak to Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo.
Isen will assign you the task of defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default Resurrección keybind is "Y", and it deactivates when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow may look and sound more appealing, but it's less versatile than evolving as a Shinigami. Prepare for extensive grinding, and remember, as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. If combat gets overwhelming, use the lockup button to focus on your primary enemy, especially useful in buggy or laggy situations where you might get stuck.
Master blocking enemy attacks early on, as even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your health doesn't regenerate quickly. Upon death, you'll lose some money, and navigating back to your quest targets can be tedious. Consider investing in bus teleport to save time.
When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, regardless of your race. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are tempting, focus on boosting your damage and mobility first.
If you're lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to use your Reiatsu sense and reveal markers around Karakura.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. As the game is still in development, expect some bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before starting your adventure, redeem your Hollow Era codes to give yourself an early boost in this challenging game.
