LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has unveiled ambitious plans to significantly expand the company's digital footprint, venturing into the world of video game development. This expansion will involve both independently developed titles and strategic partnerships. Christiansen stated, “We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.”

This strategic shift doesn't signal an end to LEGO's licensing agreements with third-party developers. Recent reports indicate that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed game franchises, is currently developing a new title, potentially linked to a Warner Bros. property.

LEGO's most prominent foray into gaming remains its ongoing collaboration with Epic Games. Last year's hugely successful LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite cemented the brand's popularity within the gaming community.

The company's long-standing relationship with TT Games has yielded a prolific series of adventure games over the past two decades. While recent projects have been relatively quiet, speculation points towards a new LEGO Harry Potter game, potentially inspired by the phenomenal success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Further demonstrating LEGO's commitment to the gaming industry and its adaptability, the company partnered with 2K Games to release LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that launched to positive reception last year.
