"Legendary Voice Actor from Skyrim, Fallout 3 Found 'Barely Alive', Family Seeks Help"
Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and many other titles, was found "barely alive" in his hotel room last week. His family is now reaching out to fans for support during this challenging time.
According to a report by PC Gamer, Johnson's wife, Kim, along with other family members, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses and support the family while he is unable to work. The campaign's page reveals that Wes is currently fighting for his life in an intensive care unit.
Johnson had traveled to Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation scheduled for January 22. However, after checking into his hotel, he did not appear at the event, causing alarm. "When he didn’t show up at the event, his wife Kim tried desperately to get in touch with him," the GoFundMe post explained. It was only after hotel security entered his room that Johnson was discovered unconscious and barely alive. Emergency medical technicians struggled to find a pulse, underscoring the severity of his condition.
The GoFundMe campaign set an initial goal of $50,000, which has been surpassed, with donations reaching $144,791 from over 2,200 supporters. In addition to his extensive work in video games, Johnson has served as the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and has appeared in various film and television roles.
His contributions to the video game industry are predominantly with Bethesda games. Recently, he voiced Ron Hope in Starfield. His other notable roles include Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Mister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others.
