In an intriguing interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura hinted at the inclusion of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake in the anticipated MGS Master Collection Vol.2. When questioned about the potential of bringing this iconic game to current platforms like the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Okamura acknowledged the fans' enthusiasm and speculation but remained cautious about revealing specifics.

"We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4," Okamura shared with IGN. "Unfortunately, we can't really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3... you can probably connect the dots! Right now, we are still internally discussing what we should be doing for the future of the series. So sorry, we can't really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!"

Since its launch, MGS4 has been a PS3 exclusive, leaving fans eager for its availability on newer systems. The release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 last year, which included remastered versions of the first three games on next-gen platforms including PC and Switch, has fueled hopes for an MGS4 PS5 port.

Rumors about an MGS4 remake intensified last year when placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker were spotted on Konami's official Metal Gear Solid timeline page. IGN reported that these titles are likely candidates for the unannounced Master Collection Vol. 2, though Konami has yet to officially confirm these speculations.

Adding fuel to the fire, Solid Snake's English voice actor, David Hayter, hinted on social media last November about his involvement in a project that seemed related to MGS4, further stirring the community's anticipation. As of now, Konami has not disclosed the contents or any concrete plans for an MGS4 remake in Master Collection Vol. 2, keeping fans eagerly waiting for more news.
