How To Play Hyper Light Breaker With Friends
To enjoy Hyper Light Breaker in co-op mode with your friends, you'll need to set up a Private multiplayer room. Start by spawning into the Cursed Outpost, the hub zone in Hyper Light Breaker. Locate the counter to the left of your commander, Pherus Bit, which is directly opposite the doorway leading into the Outpost.
Interact with this counter by pressing the designated button (usually R1 or RB) to access the Multiplayer menu. Here, you have the option to create your own Breaker Team, join an existing one, or check your Invitations. To play with your friends, select "Create Breaker Team".
In the subsequent menu, enable "Password Required" and set a unique password. Once your private Breaker Team is established, you can invite up to two friends using your platform's social service, whether it's PSN, Xbox, or Steam, as the game supports groups of up to three players.
If your friend is already in the game, they'll see your invitation in their "Invitations" tab of the Multiplayer menu. Otherwise, they can join your session through the invitation link you sent.
Your team may also appear in the general list of Breaker Teams seeking additional members under the "Join Breaker Team" option. If all else fails, your friend can search through this list and join your Private group directly.
Ensure you share the password with your friends and wait for them to join. Once everyone is in, you're ready to embark on co-op Hyper Light Breaker runs.
Random Online Matchmaking In Hyper Light Breaker
For those who want to dive into multiplayer without friends who own the game, Hyper Light Breaker offers a robust system for public group matchmaking. You can either create a public group by following the steps above without setting a password, or join one randomly through the game's matchmaking system.
Navigate to the multiplayer menu in the Cursed Outpost and select "Join Breaker Team". Scroll to the bottom of the screen and choose "Join Random Public Breaker Team".
The game will search for available public, non-password-protected Breaker Teams and assign you to one. After a brief loading period, you'll find yourself in the world of the team's creator.
To leave a multiplayer session, return to the counter in the Cursed Outpost and access the multiplayer menu. A new option will appear at the bottom of the list allowing you to disconnect from the current session. Selecting this will return you to your own world. Alternatively, you can simply quit the game to end the session.
