Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Risk and Reward

Haunted Mirror in PhasmophobiaThe Haunted Mirror stands out among Phasmophobia's Cursed Objects. Its benefits significantly outweigh the inherent risks, making it a valuable tool for ghost hunters. This guide details its use and the associated risks.

The Mirror's primary function is to reveal the ghost's current favored room. A panoramic view of this location is displayed in the mirror's reflection, significantly speeding up the investigation process. This strategic advantage allows for efficient equipment placement before the encounter becomes perilous.

Location and Acquisition:

The Haunted Mirror typically appears either hanging on a wall (as seen in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor in its predetermined location. While Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spot on a given map, the specific object that appears is randomized.

Using the Haunted Mirror:

Pick up the mirror and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller) to hold it up. The reflection will then show the ghost's preferred room. However, on Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost's location may shift after a certain time.

Caution and Risks:

Prolonged use of the Haunted Mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your precise location. Therefore, utilize it wisely, ideally when sanity levels are high, and ensure you understand the reflected image.

Cursed Possessions, or Cursed Objects, are unique items randomly spawning across Phasmophobia maps. Their appearance may vary depending on difficulty and Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which aids ghost detection and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer strategic advantages at a considerably higher risk to your character's well-being. The risk-reward ratio varies among these objects, leaving the decision of their use to the players. No penalty exists for choosing not to utilize them. Note that only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
