GTA 6: Fall 2025 Release Remains Likely

Take-Two Interactive's Q3 earnings call reaffirmed their confidence in a Fall 2025 launch for GTA 6. While CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged the inherent risk of delays ("slippage"), he expressed strong optimism, highlighting Rockstar's dedication to quality. He emphasized the company's excitement and awareness of the competitive landscape.

Take-Two's Packed 2025 Release Schedule

Zelnick highlighted 2025 as a pivotal year, featuring several major releases: Sid Meier’s Civilization VII (Early Access launched February 7th, full release February 11th), Mafia: The Old Country (Summer release), Grand Theft Auto VI (Fall release), and Borderlands 4 (before year-end). The company anticipates these titles will significantly impact their business and the industry. They project record-breaking net bookings in fiscal years 2026 and 2027.

Continued Success of Existing Franchises

The GTA franchise continues its dominance, with over 210 million units sold globally. GTA Online's performance was exceptional, boosted by the "Agents of Sabotage" holiday update and continued growth of GTA+. Other titles also saw significant success: NBA 2K25 sold over 7 million units, showing strong player engagement; and Red Dead Redemption 2, with over 70 million units sold, enjoys a resurgence in popularity on Steam.

Dispelling Rumors about GTA 5's Trevor

Steven Ogg, the actor portraying Trevor in GTA 5, addressed persistent rumors of his disliking the character. He clarified that he doesn't hate the role, but prefers not to be called Trevor outside of work. He maintains friendships with his co-stars and remains open to potential future appearances, though he has no involvement in GTA 6 currently.
