New Game Announced by Streets of Rage 4 Developers
Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. This exciting new title is poised to captivate gamers with its dynamic gameplay and immersive world.
Set in the shattered realm of Talamh, which has been ravaged by a magical cataclysm, Absolum introduces players to a society gripped by fear of magic. The tyrannical King-Sun Azra capitalizes on these fears, using his Crimson Order to oppress and enslave mages. Against this backdrop, a courageous band of heroes emerges to challenge his rule. This group includes the enigmatic necromancer Galandra, the defiant gnome Karl, the powerful mage Brom, and the mysterious Sidr. Each character brings unique abilities to the fight, promising a rich and varied gameplay experience.
Players can look forward to engaging in intense combat, with the ability to upgrade skills, unleash powerful combos, and wield magical spells. Absolum offers both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing players to team up and execute synchronized attacks that can devastate their foes.
The game’s auditory experience is equally compelling, with a soundtrack composed by the renowned Gareth Coker (famous for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite), Yuka Kitamura (known for Dark Souls and Elden Ring), and Mick Gordon (behind the scores of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart). Their combined talents promise a musical backdrop that enhances the game's atmosphere and action.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025 and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, ensuring that a wide range of gamers can dive into its richly crafted world and thrilling gameplay.
