"Final Fantasy 14 Updates Chaotic Raid Rewards"
In response to player feedback, Final Fantasy 14 is set to introduce a significant update to the reward system in Patch 7.16, scheduled for release on January 21. This update will allow players to exchange Clouddark Demimateria 1 for Clouddark Demimateria 2, a change that responds directly to community input. This new feature will enable players to more easily acquire high-demand items such as the A Half Times Two hairstyle and the Dais of Darkness mount, which require 49 and 75 Clouddark Demimateria 2, respectively.
The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance Raid, introduced on December 24 following the launch of Patch 7.15, challenges up to 24 players to battle the final boss from A Realm Reborn's World of Darkness. This raid incorporates mechanics from the Shadowbringers' Eden raid series, adding a fresh twist to the encounter. Successful parties are rewarded with Clouddark Demimateria 1 and 2, with additional amounts of the latter based on the number of first-time clears.
With the upcoming Patch 7.16, players will have the opportunity to convert their excess Clouddark Demimateria 1 into the more valuable Clouddark Demimateria 2. Although the exact exchange rate remains undisclosed, this change is expected to impact the market board prices of the hairstyle and mount, as both can be bought and sold there. Square Enix has emphasized that this adjustment, and potential future changes, are driven by player feedback, ensuring the game continues to evolve in line with community desires.
While Patch 7.16 marks the first content update of 2025 and features the finale of the Dawntrail Role Quest series, major job balance updates are not expected until Patch 7.2. As Final Fantasy 14 plans to roll out more raid content throughout the year, the influence of player feedback on these developments will be closely watched.
