Final Fantasy 14 Offers Returning Players Tons of Free Playtime

Final Fantasy XIV's Free Login Campaign Returns!

Square Enix has re-launched its popular Free Login Campaign for Final Fantasy XIV, offering a four-day free trial period to eligible players with inactive accounts. This generous offer runs until February 6th, 2025, and is available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

The campaign, timed to kick off 2025, allows players to revisit Eorzea at no cost. The four-day timer begins upon logging into the game launcher. Eligibility is easily checked via the Mog Station. To qualify, accounts must have been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign's start (January 9th, 2025, 3:00 AM Eastern Time) and must have a registered, purchased copy of the game. Accounts suspended for violating terms of service are excluded. The campaign concludes on February 6th, 2025, at 9:59 AM Eastern Time.

This free period arrives hot on the heels of Patch 7.15, which introduced new side quests within the Dawntrail expansion, including the return of the Hildibrand storyline and a fresh Custom Delivery client. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida’s recent New Year’s message confirmed upcoming Patches 7.2 and 7.3 for 2025, alongside smaller updates, and hinted at the future direction of the Dawntrail main storyline, sparking much player speculation.

While major content updates are still on the horizon, this Free Login Campaign provides a perfect opportunity for lapsed players to reconnect with Eorzea and catch up on the Dawntrail narrative before Patch 7.2's release. Players can also participate in the ongoing Heavensturn event (until January 16th), earning a special minion reward, and anticipate the Dawntrail Role Quest finale arriving with Patch 7.16 on January 21st. Square Enix encourages players to verify their eligibility through the Mog Station.
