Dennis Berndtsson, a high school teacher and solo game developer, presents his latest creation: A Kindling Forest. This isn't your average action-adventure; it's a fast-paced, side-scrolling auto-runner brimming with inventive gameplay mechanics. Prepare for a journey filled with forests, arrows, and plenty of fiery lava!

The Game's Narrative

An ancient demon unleashes chaos upon the world, prompting forest spirits to awaken a long-forgotten archer. Armed with a bow and arrow, the archer embarks on a perilous quest to vanquish the demon. But A Kindling Forest isn't about straightforward battles; it's a relentless race against time and the elements.

Gameplay Mechanics

Constant movement is key. The screen scrolls continuously, presenting a barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. Players must skillfully dodge or shoot down these hazards using their arrows, which are essentially the forest spirits' aid. Running out of arrows means game over, making every shot crucial.

Across five increasingly challenging levels, players will navigate treacherous terrain, leaping over spiders, teleporting through ancient ruins, soaring over clouds, and dodging rivers of molten lava. Strategically placed checkpoints provide lifelines, allowing players to restart and refine their approach after setbacks.

A unique dual-screen control scheme enhances the challenge. One half of the screen controls jumping, while the other manages arrow shots. Precise timing is essential, aided by a brief slow-motion effect during aiming.
