Conan Blasts Barbarian Fury in Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay Debut

Mortal Kombat 1's back-to-back video releases continue! Yesterday's esports trailer hinted at the T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the next fighter. Instead, Conan the Barbarian is arriving next week for premium edition owners, with a gameplay trailer showcasing his brutal style.

Conan's design is classic big-man-with-a-sword fare. Expect high damage output but potentially slower movement compared to more agile characters. His sword's reach might compensate for this, making matchups against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander particularly interesting.

While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some others in MK1. The acid-drowning finish is somewhat underwhelming. However, compelling gameplay often outweighs a single finishing move, and Conan promises to deliver engaging combat.

Premium edition owners get early access on Tuesday; everyone else can play as Conan starting January 28th.
