Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!

Confusion surrounded a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, NetEase Games initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.

However, overwhelming negative player feedback prompted a change of plans. NetEase listened to the community and announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of Season 1.

This decision is a positive development, allowing high-ranking players to maintain their positions and demonstrating NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns.

What's New in the Mid-Season Update?

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the Season 1 mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
