Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverts Controversial Zombies Change

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's January 9th Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has responded to player feedback and rolled back a recent change to Black Ops 6's Zombies Directed Mode. The January 3rd update introduced a lengthened time between rounds and a delayed zombie spawn after five looped rounds in Directed Mode on round 15. This alteration proved unpopular with the community, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion. The developer acknowledged player concerns and swiftly reversed the decision.

The January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of the spawn delay, restoring it to approximately 20 seconds maximum after five looped rounds. Additionally, the update includes several bug fixes for Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map, addressing issues with quest progression and visual glitches. Problems with the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have also been resolved.

Further improvements include significant buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies have all been increased, and the cooldown timer has been reduced by 25%.

The patch notes also highlight other fixes across the game:

  • Global: Addressed issues affecting Maya's "Joyride" skin visibility, the Events tab's visuals, and in-game audio for event milestones.
  • Multiplayer: Enhanced XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light mode and implemented stability improvements.
  • Zombies: Beyond the Directed Mode and Shadow Rift changes, fixes for visual effects and crashes in Citadelle des Morts are included. The Liberty Falls map has been added to Dead Light, Green Light, and the round cap increased to 20.

Treyarch anticipates further bug fixes and adjustments in the upcoming Black Ops 6 Season 2 update on January 28th. Players still have time to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.
