How To Beat the Yetuga in The First Berserker: Khazan
When you dive into the challenging realm of Soulslike games like *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you're gearing up for some intense battles. Here's your guide to conquering Yetuga, the formidable first boss you'll encounter in the game.
Your strategy will depend on your playstyle, but a focus on dodging and parrying will be crucial to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:
- A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut.
- A four-hit combo with horizontal swipes using either its left or right arm.
- A powerful downward smash with both arms.
- A leaping single-handed smash.
- A jumping grab.
- A charge attack.
As you battle, you'll start to recognize Yetuga's attack patterns, allowing you to find openings to strike back. Besides the jumping grab, parrying Yetuga's attacks will not only save your Stamina but also deal additional Stamina damage to the boss. You can turn its aggression to your advantage. For instance, by avoiding its charge and letting Yetuga crash into a wall in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you'll get a brief window to attack freely. This is your chance to break the ice spikes on its back, weakening its attack strength.
In this phase, Yetuga will grab a massive rock to smash towards you. Dodge or parry at the perfect moment to avoid taking damage. It will also unleash a frost breath that generates ice spikes, so either move out of the way or parry the attack when it comes to you. Seize the opportunity to use Potent Attacks when you can, and when Yetuga tires, unleash a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage and bring the beast down quickly.
Your reward for defeating Yetuga includes 4,800 Lacrima, various Frozen Mountain gear items, and the valuable Necklace of Resolve.
That's everything you need to know to defeat Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For more tips and guides, be sure to check out The Escapist.
