Compatibility

Compatibility varies between phones and operating systems. The FreeStyle Libre 2 app works solely with FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensors. For detailed compatibility information, visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.

Before Starting Your Sensor

Before activating your Sensor, decide which device you will use. You can receive alarms and glucose readings either on your phone or your FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader, but not both simultaneously. To get these readings on your phone, start the Sensor with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app. If you prefer using the Reader, initiate the Sensor with your Reader.

Note that the FreeStyle Libre 2 app and Reader do not share data. For comprehensive data on a device, scan your Sensor every 8 hours with that device; otherwise, your reports may be incomplete. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

If you use the app, ensure you have access to a blood glucose monitoring system as the app itself does not provide one.

Notifications are only received when alarms are active and the sensor is within 20 feet, unobstructed from the reading device. Ensure your smartphone settings are correctly configured to receive alarms and alerts. For detailed guidance, consult the FreeStyle Libre 2 User’s Manual.
