Xbox Developer Direct 2025: A January Showcase of Upcoming Titles

Microsoft has announced the next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, marking the first Xbox game showcase of 2025 and the third installment of this annual event. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this showcase will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and air on YouTube and Twitch.

Confirmed Games:

Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase:

• South of Midnight: This stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few) was initially announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, aiming for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.

• Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is rumored.

Beyond the Confirmed Titles:

Previous Developer Directs exceeded 40 minutes, featuring multiple games. The 2024 event showcased Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to follow suit, potentially including unannounced surprises.
