"WoW Offers Second Chance for Missed 20th Anniversary Achievement"
Summary
- World of Warcraft players can find Alyx in Dornogal to start a mystery quest for the Detective title.
- Search for 11 missing Celebration Crates with clues from Alyx's board in World of Warcraft.
- Moving Alyx ensures players can still earn the Detective title after the anniversary event.
World of Warcraft has relocated Alyx, the NPC responsible for the Guest Relation mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, to Dornogal. Here, Alyx continues to accept the missing Celebration Crates, ensuring that players can still obtain the coveted Detective title and begin the quest for the elusive Felcycle mount indefinitely.
The 20th anniversary event for World of Warcraft concluded, bringing an end to the festivities, rewards, and buffs that players enjoyed for nearly three months. The Caverns of Time have returned to their usual state, and most of the event-specific NPCs and decorations have vanished.
However, Alyx, the Lightforged Draenei NPC central to the Guest Relations mystery questlines, remains accessible. Now situated at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters building in Dornogal, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx has taken on the new title of "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." Accompanying Alyx is their board of notes, which provides clues to the locations of the 11 hidden Celebration Crates scattered across the world. Players who successfully retrieve all 11 crates and return them to Alyx can earn the Crate Insurance Agent, No Crate Left Behind, and Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, along with the prestigious Detective title. This title is crucial as it unlocks the mystery leading to the Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.
Earning the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary
- Locate Alyx and their board of clues in Dornogal, positioned between the Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs to the Foundation Hall.
- Use the clues on the board to find the 11 missing Celebration Crates in World of Warcraft.
- Players need to be at least level 10 to start these quests, but must reach level 68 to access Dornogal.
- Return six crates to earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and all 11 crates to secure the No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, and the Detective title.
Previously, it was known that the Incognitro secret quests would remain available post-anniversary, but many believed the Detective title needed to be earned during the event. By moving Alyx to Dornogal and allowing indefinite crate turn-ins, Blizzard ensures that no player will be permanently locked out of obtaining the rare Felcycle mount.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Guest Relations quests from WoW's 20th anniversary are no longer accessible, as they were tied to the event grounds. This means that achievements like Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their Thinking Cap transmogs, are now unobtainable. While it seems unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this specific storyline, future updates might introduce alternative methods to earn these rewards.
