Baldur's Gate 3, despite being over a year old, continues to captivate players with its engaging gameplay, leading many to multiple playthroughs. However, with Larian Studios moving on from the series, the future of Baldur's Gate rests with Hasbro. Fortunately, Hasbro's SVP of digital games, Dan Ayoub, recently hinted at upcoming announcements regarding the franchise's future.

Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, Ayoub revealed Hasbro's significant interest in the Baldur's Gate franchise, stating they are actively developing plans for its future and will soon share updates. While he remained tight-lipped about specifics—whether this involves a full-fledged Baldur's Gate 4 or a different approach—Ayoub confirmed his desire to eventually create a Baldur's Gate 4, acknowledging the significant time commitment such a project would require. He emphasized a measured, deliberate approach to development.

Ayoub also recognized the immense pressure to deliver a high-quality successor, noting this pressure positively influences other Dungeons & Dragons-related projects, including a previously announced Hasbro game. He expressed confidence in Hasbro's ability to meet the challenge and raise the creative bar for future installments.

Ayoub's comments were part of a broader conversation encompassing Magic: The Gathering, the Saber Interactive partnership, and Hasbro's overall gaming strategy. A full interview will be available next week.
