Since *Fields of Mistria* entered Early Access on Steam, the Deep Woods area has been marked on the town map, but it remained inaccessible until the game's March 2025 update. Here's your comprehensive guide to accessing the Deep Woods and finding Caldarus within *Fields of Mistria*.

How to Unlock the Deep Woods in *Fields of Mistria*

To unlock the Deep Woods, you must break the Fire Seal and utilize the new Dragon’s Breath spell to clear the obstructing vines. Start by gathering four crucial items for the Priestess’ Fire Seal altar located on Floor 60 of the mines: a Faceted Rock Gem, a Rockroot, an Emerald, and a Sealing Scroll. The first three items are scattered between floors 50 and 59, while acquiring the Sealing Scroll requires teamwork with Juniper and Balor.

To assist Balor in obtaining the Sealing Scroll, you must provide the following items in the bin by his wagon:

• x10 Silver Ingots
• x10 Rubies
• x10 Sapphires
• x10 Emeralds

After fulfilling these requirements, speak with Balor again. He'll inform you that the Sealing Scroll will be available the next day, allowing you to proceed with the offering.

Upon breaking the magic seal, the Priestess will urge you to leave the area swiftly to avoid being trapped by the Sealing Scroll. As your health diminishes, Caldarus will appear in his human form, offering assistance and retreating to his temple in the Deep Woods to recuperate. He then entrusts you with the Dragon’s Breath spell, which you can use to burn through the vines blocking the Deep Woods entrance in *Fields of Mistria*. This spell also reveals other hidden areas on the map. To use it, equip Dragon’s Breath from the pause menu and activate it in front of the area's entrance to unlock it permanently.

How to Find Caldarus

After breaking the Fire Seal, you can locate Caldarus within his temple in the Deep Woods. This temple lies north of the Eastern Road on your map. Use the Dragon’s Breath spell to access this area, where Caldarus' exact location will be marked on your map, akin to other NPCs. He awaits you in the northeast corner of the area.

To reach him, enter the Deep Woods, proceed right from the entrance, and use your axe to remove the stump blocking your path. Continue north until you arrive at the temple where Caldarus resides.

Once the Deep Woods are unlocked, you can utilize the Dragon Statue on your farm to fast travel to the area and visit Caldarus at any time for just 10 Essence. This method is significantly more efficient than traveling on foot or horseback.

Moreover, you can still interact with Caldarus through his statue, maintaining a connection with him in spirit.
