Ubisoft will unveil two hours of gameplay from Assassin's Creed Shadows tomorrow
Get ready for a closer look at Assassin's Creed Shadows! Ubisoft will host a livestream showcasing the game's captivating feudal Japan setting. Viewers will witness protagonists Naoe and Yasuke in action, tackling quests, exploring Harima Province, and confronting formidable foes. The developers will also participate in a Q&A session, offering insights into their creative process and vision for this installment.
Originally slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin's Creed Shadows transports players to a world of samurai conflict and political intrigue. However, reliable insider Tom Henderson has shed light on the delay. The postponement, he explains, is attributed to the need for addressing historical and cultural inaccuracies, alongside general polishing. While rumors circulated about Yasuke's potential removal from the narrative, Henderson clarifies that while his storyline will undergo revisions, the character remains.
The challenges faced by the development team were multifaceted. The late integration of historical consultants, coupled with internal communication issues, contributed to the setbacks. From a technical standpoint, the game simply wasn't ready for its initial launch date. While bug fixes are underway, more extensive changes to gameplay mechanics are expected to take longer. Despite this, Henderson's sources confidently predict a Valentine's Day release – February 14th – suggesting the team has sufficient time to finalize the game.
