Tranquil Haven Roia Launches from Acclaimed Studio Emoak

Mobile gaming's innovative spirit shines brightly in Roia, a testament to how smartphones' unique design and widespread appeal have revolutionized game development. This ingenious puzzle-adventure, the latest from Emoak (creators of Paper Climb, Machinaero, and the award-winning Lyxo), takes an unexpected approach.

The core concept? Guiding a river to the sea. Starting from a mountaintop, you sculpt the landscape with your finger, carefully directing the water's flow.

Emoak's press release reveals a deeply personal connection for designer Tobias Sturn. Childhood memories of playing in a creek with his grandfather, building waterwheels and bridges, heavily influenced the game's creation. Sadly, his grandfather passed away during development; Roia is dedicated to his memory.

Roia defies easy categorization. While challenges exist, the game's essence is relaxation. Your journey unfolds across beautifully crafted environments – forests, meadows, villages – guided by a helpful white bird.

The game's visuals echo the elegant simplicity of Monument Valley. Complementing the stunning graphics is a captivating soundtrack by Johannes Johannson (also behind Lyxo's score).
