Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, though servers will remain online.

Released in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. On December 9th, 2024, Rocksteady announced the end of support, with Season 4 Episode 8 being the final update. Despite this, all online features will remain accessible, allowing players to continue enjoying the game cooperatively.

Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant new content:

• Libra Infamy Set: A new set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating damage dealt and received by enemies.
• Notorious Weapons: Powerful new weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a devastating alt-fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
• Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
• Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
• Bug Fixes: A large number of bug fixes addressing various gameplay issues, UI elements, and performance problems. Fixes include those related to LuthorCoin expiration, XP rewards, and several character-specific abilities.

A December update (Season 4 Episode 7) introduced offline play, allowing players to access the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, this offline mode ensures continued access to the game's content even if servers are eventually taken offline.

For players who haven't yet experienced the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd.

Known Issues: Incorrect tracking of Riddler challenges when accessed from a different episode than the selected one. Exiting to the main menu resolves this.
