Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update
Stellar Blade's recent update, incorporating the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking glitches. However, developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Patch 1.009, while delivering exciting new content, also caused significant problems. Players are experiencing softlocks in a main quest within an earlier dungeon, preventing progression. Additional issues include game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera and improper rendering of new cosmetic items on Eve.
Shift Up advises against attempting to force quest completion. Instead, players should await the hotfix to avoid potential permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The update includes the much-lauded NieR: Automata collaboration, a testament to the creative synergy between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive items are available through Emil, a NieR character now residing in Stellar Blade's world.
The addition of Photo Mode fulfills a long-standing player request. Players can now capture personalized shots of Eve and her companions, further enhanced by new photo challenges. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) altering Tachy Mode's appearance have also been added. Ponytail customization options have expanded with a "No Ponytail" setting. Further improvements include lip-sync for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
