As the holiday season approaches, Shift Up is infusing Xion with festive cheer starting December 17. Get ready to celebrate in style with new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game.

Eve and other characters will don new holiday outfits, bursting with vibrant colors and festive decorations. The available character outfits include:

Enhance Eve's holiday look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

Xion, the last surviving human settlement, will transform into a cozy haven adorned with warm lights and festive red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve’s camp will also embrace the holiday spirit, spreading cheer throughout Xion. The camp will feature seasonal BGM tracks like “Dawn (Winter)” and “Take me away,” creating a soothing atmosphere and easing the fatigue of daily battles.

In addition to the holiday decorations, a new mini-game will be introduced in Xion. While details about the mode and its rewards are yet to be revealed, it appears that players can earn special rewards by shooting targets on a hovering holiday-themed drone.

Turn On or Off Stellar Blade’s Seasonal Contents

The latest update introduces an option to enable or disable seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. To access this feature, navigate to the game’s Settings, then to Gameplay, and select Seasonal Event Content. You can choose from three options:

  • Auto - automatically enables or disables seasonal content based on the current season
  • Disable - deactivates seasonal content, regardless of the current season
  • Enabled - activates seasonal content, regardless of the current season

This new feature allows players to enjoy seasonal content at their convenience. Note that changing the Seasonal Event Content option will prompt the game to restart from the most recent save.

Mostly Well-Received, But Not Everyone Is Happy

Following PlayStation's announcement on Twitter (X) on December 16, most fans expressed excitement about the new update. Many playfully dubbed Eve "Christmas Eve," blending the holiday spirit with the protagonist's name. Fans also appreciated Shift Up's commitment to regular seasonal updates.

However, some fans raised concerns about the frequency of event updates. One fan remarked, "I don’t mind at all but why does Stellar Blade have so many event updates? Just doesn’t seem like the type of game." Others were frustrated by the need to restart the game to experience the seasonal content.

While many games with seasonal content are multiplayer and highly replayable, Stellar Blade is a single-player game that can be completed in about 30 hours. This shorter playtime means players must restart the game to fully enjoy the seasonal content, as there's little to do after completing the main story.
