Author : George Update : Jan 26,2025

Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two of the hit Netflix show with a massive content drop! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges. Plus, exclusive rewards await those who watch the new episodes!

Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, before the holidays, was a bold strategy. Now, with this new content update, they're cleverly incentivizing viewership by offering in-game rewards for watching Season Two!

What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season Two will launch. Three new playable characters – Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos – will also debut throughout January.

Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. And the rewards don't stop there! Watching episodes of Squid Game Season Two earns players in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!

Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:

  • January 3rd: New Mingle map launches alongside Geum-Ja. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event begins (until January 9th), challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
  • January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th). Players eliminate opponents using knives to unlock him.
  • January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final new character in this update.

Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a significant step for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model was a bold move, but rewarding subscribers and encouraging viewing through in-game rewards is a shrewd strategy to boost both the game and the show's popularity.
