Nintendo has officially announced the conclusion of regular content updates for Splatoon 3. However, the beloved shooter isn't completely abandoned. Holiday events like Splatoween and Frosty Fest will continue, along with ongoing monthly challenges and necessary weapon balance patches.

The official Twitter (X) announcement stated: "After 2 INK-credible years of Splatoon 3, regular updates will conclude. However, Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will return! Weapon adjustments and balance patches will be released as needed. Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will continue."

Launched two years ago on September 9th, Splatoon 3's shift away from active development has reignited rumors of a sequel, Splatoon 4.

Intriguing in-game details spotted during the Grand Festival, potentially hinting at a new game location, have fueled the speculation. Some fans believe these locations preview a new city in a future Splatoon game. Others remain unconvinced, suggesting the locations are simply variations of existing areas.
