Revue Starlight Re LIVE Halts New Recruits Amid EOS Closure
Revue Starlight Re LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the anime series, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.
Why the Shutdown?
The game's underperformance over the past five and a half years led to this decision. Players noted repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes as contributing factors. Storyline inconsistencies, such as a sudden character shift, also impacted the game's popularity. The closure affects global servers, including Japan.
Positive Aspects
Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE boasted a strong soundtrack featuring anime music, impressive 3D graphics, and engaging Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
While the game's lifespan is ending soon, developers are offering several events to allow players a final send-off. August and September will feature new campaigns, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign with daily free pulls and a two-month birthday celebration with new gacha events. Download the game from the Google Play Store to participate. Check out other gaming news as well, such as the Android release of The Dragon Prince: Xadia.
